In 2019, Gallery Elle is delighted to announce the opening of her second gallery in the heart of Suvretta House St. Moritz. And this new space represents a natural extension of her activities in Switzerland. The outdoor garden, surrounded by a breathtaking panorama, displays other renowned individual works. The focus is actually in the winter season.
You Belong Here – Exhibition by Olivia Steele
Contemporary visual artist, Olivia Steele is pleased to announce an exhibition of works at Gallery Elle, located at Suvretta House on view from 9th December 2022 through 31st March 2023.
The curation represents a dynamic range of Steele’s iconic technicolor creations. Within the gallery, a collection of 14 works punctuate the space with her thought-provoking musings from caged truisms and illuminated chrome gas tanks, to “Public Display of Awareness” road signs and a witty series of repurposed antique books. Each piece is strategically placed, creating a dialogue and evoking personal interpretation as guests journey throughout the exhibit. As Olivia Steele is accustomed to combining nature and perceptual art, two other works will be on view as outdoor installations in the winter snow: You Belong Here, a neon metal structure set up in the castle, and Whatever, But With You, a neon metal structure set up in the garden, against the backdrop of a picturesque Upper Engadine Alpine landscape. Steele’s ongoing theme of contrasts and contradictions will transform this historic property and inspire locals and travelers alike through artistic interventions.
